Afghanistan Flag Description
The Afghanistan flag features three vertical stripes. The left bar is black, the middle stripe is red and the right stripe is green.
The Red color represents the blood of the lives lost during the fight for independence, the black represents the trouble in the 19th century and the green represents the future and the hope that comes along with it.
In the center of the flag is the national emblem. The emblem features a mosque and the name of of the nation in Arabic script. It also features two flags that represent the nation of Afghanistan. Underneath is the year 1298 that is significant because it is the year that Afghanistan gained its independence from British rule.
